The spatula is good, but it is not as effective (in application) as a thick brush.

I'm very happy! I was tired of getting my hands dirty and all sorts of creamy masks getting under my nails. The spatula is invaluable in this regard. Smooth, gentle, glides on the skin, and it's easier to judge the amount of mask to apply to the face.
